Last summer, ChefScape introduced a new concept in culinary travel. We organize mini,
personalized 3-day tours of Provence. A big success among our clients!
Private tours last 3 days and are entirely customizable. Our clients rent a house in
Provence (we can help with that). Chef Gui and his wife Caitlin meet them at their rental
house and take over from there.
Our clients, strangers in a strange land, usually see those tours as a first-rate “warm
up” to a country that would otherwise not be as easily accessible. Many decide to have
Chef Gui and Caitlin around for the first 3 days of their stay, before getting well-situated
and flying on their own, so to speak, armed with basic French, knowledge of Provencal
culture, and an understanding of local opening hours (a nightmare to figure out!).
Chef Gui was born, raised, and trained as a chef in Provence. His wife Caitlin, a US-born
Marine Biologist, spent 2 years in Provence. She is fluent in French, well-traveled and
extremely attentive to our client's needs. She compensates her terrible sense of
direction by a sharp sense of humor. They both make our clients quickly feel at home in
Provence.
